ABOUT PINK TIGER
WHERE DO WE BEGIN?
The story of how Pink Tiger came to be is a long one—a bumpy but serendipitous journey! We’ll spare you the chapter book and share highlights.
Pink Tiger’s initial inspiration was, in fact, The Wharf. After a long period of observing this beautiful, cultured neighborhood, we felt called to create a space that could truly complement and serve it. A place with incredible food and drinks, and warm, welcoming hospitality. A space that’s sophisticated and interesting, but never stuffy—and always approachable. Where the playlists are groovy, the live music brings the room to life, and every detail invites you to relax, connect, and enjoy.
We imagined a space built for first dates, lively dinners, cocktails with friends, fun events, and vibrant energy that reflects the many walks of life—and countless happenings—right outside our door.
As we approached our opening and Pink Tiger came alive, the old adage “Curiosity Killed The Cat” kept echoing—and we began to question it. Why should curiosity be the end of the story? Curiosity is what brought us here. And of course, our patron Tiger—a cat herself—is innately curious. So we embraced a what would become our new philosophy: Curiosity Thrilled The Cat. It opened doors to new life, adventure, and discovery. To us, that’s the recipe for happiness. Today, curiosity is our guiding light. It’s what drives us to play, explore, and evolve—on our own terms, in tune with the seasons, the mood, and most importantly, our guests. It’s the fabric of everything we do.
We are proudly family-owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Brooke and Peter Demetriou. Pink Tiger is a small, bespoke restaurant—not part of any big group. We’re not corporate. And that’s something we cherish deeply. We have the freedom to shape the menu, the music, the mood as we see fit, when we see fit —and most importantly, to build meaningful relationships with our guests and our team.
Most of what you’ll find on the menu is the result of a collaboration between Executive Chef Joseph Castro and Director, Brooke. Brooke’s initial interest in hospitality began with her love of hosting, but she credits her deeper appreciation for it to two things: working in the industry—and the lyrics of “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast, which struck a surprisingly personal chord and highlighted the true beauty of service. Creative and driven, Brooke is always fine-tuning—from how a dish is described, to how it’s plated, to the art on the walls, the lighting in the room, and how a guest is welcomed at the door. She’s constantly encouraging us to do better and be better—for better or worse (but mostly better!). She brings a distinct Southern sensibility, thanks to her Texas roots via her mother, Joan—whose deviled eggs and Salisbury steak still top Brooke’s list of comfort foods—and her Virginia upbringing through her father, grounding Pink Tiger in warmth, charm, and classic hospitality.
Chef Castro—the creative genius that he is—keeps things light, fun, and endlessly inspiring. His “go for it” mindset allows us to experiment, pivot, and truly enjoy the process. A true kitchen wizard (as his bio suggests), Chef Joe comes from a culinary family, and his Asian heritage and extensive formal training give him the skills to create just about anything under the sun—with precision, curiosity, and soul. He’s passionate, driven, and truly the heart of Pink Tiger.
And then there’s Peter, our fearless leader—the one who keeps us grounded and the business running smoothly. His Greek influence hums quietly in the background of the menu, making its way into the kitchen now and then—especially when we’re feeling playful with our beloved “MediterrAsian” concept. Raised in the restaurant world, Peter grew up in a home filled with children, grandparents, aunts, uncles… AND SO MUC FOOD! Hospitality was the way of life. Though Peter is an accomplished entrepreneur in his own right, with multiple ventures under his belt, today the restaurant world is where he feels most at home. And while he focuses primarily on the business side, you’ll often see him in the dining room—checking in, saying hello, and making sure things are just right.
So that’s a little bit about us—Chef Joe, Peter, and Brooke, your Pink Tiger founders.
We can’t wait to welcome you. Cheers!
